The Daisy Fresh Story
Daisy Fresh was created from a passion for cleanliness and creativity. Pottering about in the kitchen with home fragrance and household soaps sparked my creativity making me want to learn how things are made.
As a mum of 3 growing boys cleanliness is not as important to them as it is to me therefore I wanted to create soaps that would entice them to wash and not worry about it affecting their skin, and to create fragrances for my home to overpower the teenage boy stench! My children and I all suffer with eczema, my eldest gets frequent flare ups so creating a soap especially for him became the first mission. Our Goats Milk, Oaks and Honey bar was the answer to his prayers, showering every day he is no longer worried about the soap making his skin sore and painful! With one solution solved I began experimenting more. Once the recipes were developed and tweaked they were sent off to be assessed and registered to comply with EU law. This all happen during the the Covid-19 outbreak, with the world forced to stop I had to stay busy for my own mental health, I worked on my hobby daily and it quickly turned into a business which gave me the outlet to add more product line and develop my passion for home fragrances. I love being creative, it sparks so much joy for me, almost everything you can shop online with us has been made by me, the skincare, the home fragrance and the handmade homewares. Many people don't realise I also handmake all our candle vessels and diffuser upgrade vessels, this is so important to me, it ensure they are truly unique to Daisy Fresh.
Jump ahead to 2024 the business had it best year ever, all whilst I worked a 9-5 as a full time job, I had an opportunity to grow the business but working full time simply held me back, I found myself turning down wholesale orders as I didn't have the time or space to fulfil them. This was the turning point for me, if I was going to give it a go, then I had to go all in! So October 2024 I left my full time job, a job I loved with the most amazing colleagues, but I had to give Daisy Fresh 100% to see if it would work. This was just the beginning of a crazy couple of weeks, my plans to create a workshop away from the family home fell through and we started looking for an alternative and affordable space. Mr Daisy Fresh found a space just 10 minutes from our home and we went to view it. I fell in love with the space straight away, the only problem was it was so much bigger than we were looking for, but we quickly turned that into a positive and fast tracked the plans for a Daisy Fresh shop, yep, we skipped the workshop part and jumped in headfirst with a retail space! Christmas was just under two months away so we jumped into action, signed the lease, did a transformation DIY SOS would've been proud of and opened our doors on the 9th December 2024. So now you can shop online OR visit us in store! This is all honestly a dream come true, its hard work but the reward is I get to do something I love every day, whilst providing for my family. Plus my sons now have Saturday jobs and earn money in the family business and can appreciate the business I am building for their futures.
And the name... I wish it was as simple as feeling Fresh as a Daisy....
However, the name comes from my other passion which is our 4 gorgeous Bulldogs. Our first bulldog Daisy is the inspiration for our company name, she never failed to make us smile when the world seemed to be falling apart around us, plus I love it when she's been bathed and smelling Daisy Fresh!.
And the rest as they say is history....
